Dimming
Dimmers are devices used to vary the brightness of a light. By decreasing or increasing the RMS voltage and, hence, the mean power to the lamp, it is possible to vary the intensity of the light output. Although variable-voltage devices are used for various purposes, the term dimmer is generally reserved for those intended to control light output from resistive incandescent, halogen, and (more recently) compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). More specialized equipment is needed to dim fluorescent, mercury vapor, solid state and other arc lighting.
The Dove DM-310 is a small three channel DMX “shoebox” dimmer. This dimmer can handle 2400 watts total, 600 watts per channel. Features a selectable DMX address, dual edison outputs for each channel, and DMX in and thru ports.
The Dove DM-406 is a small four channel DMX “shoebox” dimmer. This dimmer can handle 2400 watts total, 600 watts per channel. Features a selectable DMX address, stagepin outs, and DMX in and thru ports.
The Dove DM-1224 is a rack mountable twelve channel DMX dimmer. This dimmer can handle 28800 watts total, 2400 watts per channel. Each channel has one stage pin output. The starting DMX address can be set on the unit and there is a DMX in and thru. Single or three phase service is required to use this unit.
The Lighting Methods L86 is rolling rack mounted forty-eight channel DMX or Cinch Jones dimmer. This dimmer can handle 57600 watts total, 1200 watts per channel. Each channel has one stage pin output. Eight veam connectors are also provided to connect multi cable to the unit for output. The starting DMX address can be set on the unit and there is a DMX in and thru. Three phase service is required to use this unit.
The Leprecon LD-360 is a small six channel Cinch Jones “shoebox” dimmer. This dimmer can handle 2400 watts total, 1800 watts per channel. Features two parallel edison outputs per channel and CJ in and thru ports.
The Teatronics MDP is a rack mounted twelve channel DMX dimmer. This dimmer can handle 28800 watts total, 2400 watts per channel. Each channel has one stage pin output. Two veam connectors are also provided to connect multi cable to the unit for input. The starting DMX address can be set on the unit and there is a DMX in and thru. Single or three phase service is required to use this unit.
